| {{Ambox|text=For a list of all currently written certifications, see [[:Category:Arma certifications|the relevant category]]. For detailed information on certifications, prerequisites, which individuals have what certifications, and so on, visit [https://enduranet.edcgaming.org '''EnduraNet'''].}}In the Endurance Coalition a '''certification''' is a "course" written by a member of EDC, approved of by EDC leadership, which serves to teach skills pertinent to the Arma unit. A vast majority of certifications revolve around going over how to perform a specific role, such as being a medic or pilot.

| == Purpose ==
| |
| In non-casual operations ran by EDC there is usually a sign-up sheet. A person who does not possess the relevant certification for a desired role is not permitted to sign up for that role. Sign-up sheets as a general rule do not list ''every slot of a given role.'' This way, on game day, it is possible for someone even without the appropriate certification to get a chance to play said role. However, on game day, anyone who wishes to slot into it who ''does'' possess the certification takes priority. Similarly, if no one signs up for the role, on game day, anyone with the certification will get priority and {{Emdash}} if after that the role is still not slotted {{Emdash}} anyone may do so on a first-come-first-serve basis.

| Verification of certification will be on the honor system, though if leadership suspect foul play they may use EnduraNet to verify. It is not advised to lie about certification possession.

| == Becoming certified ==
| |
| A prospective member who wishes to be certified should go to the relevant page on this wiki. The page will go over all the information and skills necessary to do what the certification is addressing. On this page a link to an associated checklist will be available and is the same checklist that will be used during certification. The prospective individual is advised to review the list and ensure they can perform all items on it. Once they are certain they are familiar with all items in the checklist, they may ask any person who has the certification to certify them. This can be done by going to EnduraNet and performing a search by-certification.
| |
| | |
| During certification, all that will occur is that the member who possesses the certification will make a copy of the checklist and then ask, in order from top to bottom, that the prospective member perform all actions on the checklist. This will be done on the Arma server in the presence of the member with the certification. If the observed member manages to perform all actions on the list, even if the certifying member has to assist occasionally, the member qualifies to be certified.
| |
| | |
| The person who performed the certification will then report in a designated location that this occurred. A member of EDC leadership will perform a quick sanity check that everything seems above board. Then, either they or someone else who has access to the EnduraNet database mark the individual who was observed as being certified, making it official and permanently recorded.
