Campaign 2, codenamed Gold Rush (start 6 September 2024), is the 2nd game in the Domiere Campaign storyline. It involves the EDC 13th Corps 7th Planetary Brigade Combat Team engaging rebel leader Lieutenant General Fyke, a man leading a coup d'état against the Fesalian Military. The objectives are to secure the cities of Creux Passer and Elever Racines alongside preventing the destruction of a nearby dam.
Briefing
Situation
General Ardel of the Fesalian Military has brought me up to speed on the situation. By now many of you have heard, one way or another, that the hostile forces wear similar garb to the Fesalian Military. Ardel has confirmed what the enemy wears is by no mistake, he believes a coup lead by a radical Lieutenant General Fyke is underway. Citta Del Tesoro is a major road and rail hub leading west so Ardel believes they intended to secure Tesoro and Tesoro Field to exert control in the region; fortunately, 13th corps arrived just in time to provide support and prevent the control of Tesoro. With Tesoro still ours a noose is tightened around Fyke's forward forces in the west. While General Ardel focuses much of his force in securing the West and North he has personally asked us to push East.
Mission
General Ardel has asked 13th Corps to push East and secure what is believed to be the 'main force', he stated he'd do it himself but his men are far to weakened following the last attacks. Don't get to pale now though, the Fesalian Military won't just be leaving us to the wind. Fesalian aircraft will be running scheduled airdrops for units and supply and providing intermittent air support with Fixed-Wing craft when they're available. Start stripping weight off things and prepping for a drop.
Objectives
We've been tasked with securing the towns of Creux Passer and Elever Racines. Both towns are wanted in tact as much as possible encouraging us to move fighting out of the towns however possible. General Ardel has personally asked we avoid using explosives inside Creux Passer, sounds like it's his hometown and it'd mean a lot if it didn't end up like Tesoro. General Ardel has also informed us of a dam in the hills by the Elever Lac, although not an immediate objective he wants us aware should the enemy get 'desperate'. In conclusion:
- Secure and hold Creux Passer until operation is complete
- Avoid explosives inside Creux Passer
- Secure and hold Elever Racines until operation is complete
- Minor Objective to prevent the Dam by Elever Lac from being destroyed should Enemy forces try.
Execution
The Fesalian Military is granting us access to a few of their medium and heavy lift craft for airdropping in forces, currently we're looking at two drop zones. Drop Zone Goodshoes will consist of only Fesalian light transports lifting in the following per scheduled drop:
- 2 class 3+ vehicles
- 2 Infantry for every 1 vehicle not brought.
Drop Zone Mriya will consist of the Fesalian heavy transports lifting in the following per scheduled drop:
- 4 class 2+ vehicles
- 2 Infantry for every 1 vehicle brought.
DZ Mriya will have some air support for the first hours of the drop to keep the DZ clear along the road. Any unit not deploying by air will deploy by ground and be advancing from the west along the western MSR. 13th Corps Sustainment Battalion will bring supplies fourth along the Western MSR once a depot is constructed, advise this being a priority. VTOLs will be capable of deploying along any hex hugging the western map edge, or within the Western Deployment Zone.
Opposition
Enemy makeup isn't entirely known; however, with the runway secured we don't expect any sort of hostile fixed-wing aircraft. Ardel suspects at least one long range heavy indirect-fire weapon in play, it had been shelling them until we entered the AO.
